Van Bruggen, Jakob

Jakob Van Bruggen (ThD, Utrecht University) is research professor of New Testament at the Theological University in Kampen, Netherlands, where he taught from 1967 until 2001. He is the author of more than fifteen commentaries and monographs in Dutch and English, including Christ on Earth: The Gospel Narratives as HistoryJesus the Son of God: The Gospel Narratives as Message; and The Future of the Bible. He is general editor of a major New Testament commentary series published by J. H. Kok, Kampen. He has lectured at seminaries and colleges in several countries and has presented papers at the annual meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society.


Van Dam, Cornelis

Cornelis Van Dam is professor of Old Testament at the Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary (Hamilton, Ontario) and holds degrees from Wilfrid Laurier University (BA); Theological College of the Canadian Reformed Churches (BD); Knox College, University of Toronto (ThM) and Theological University of Kampen, The Netherlands (ThD).


Van Dyken, Donald

Donald Van Dyken was pastor of the Orthodox Christian Reformed Church of Sunnyside, Washington, and an avid teacher of the catechism for many years.


Van Genderen, J.

Dr. J van Genderen was a professor at the Theological University of the Christian Reformed Churches in the Netherlands in Apeldoorn. He taught dogmatics, the history of doctrine, and symbolics (the creeds).


Van Til, Cornelius

Cornelius Van Til (1895–1987) was born in Grootegast, the Netherlands, and immigrated with his family to America in 1905. He attended Calvin College and Calvin Seminary before completing his studies at Princeton Theological Seminary and Princeton University with the ThM and PhD degrees. 

Drawn to the pastorate, Van Til spent one year in the ministry before taking a leave of absence to teach apologetics at Princeton Seminary. When the seminary reorganized, he was persuaded to join the faculty of the newly founded Westminster Theological Seminary. He remained there as professor of apologetics until his retirement in 1972. 

Van Til wrote more than twenty books, in addition to more than thirty syllabi. Among his best-known titles are The Defense of the Faith, A Christian Theory of Knowledge, and An Introduction to Systematic Theology.


Veith, Gene Edward

Gene Edward Veith (PhD, MPhil, MA, English, University of Kansas) is provost and professor of literature at Patrick Henry College, a Christian classical liberal arts college in Purcellville, Virginia.
