The main idea of the book is to promote a journey of understanding between Christians and Muslims.

"Rare are the books on Islam authored by people who combine extensive, personal experience with theological insight, integrity and grace. This is one of those rare books, and I heartily recommend it for use in churches, classrooms, and individual preparation for witnessing to Muslims."

—Roger S. Greenway

—Harvie M. Conn

"Bruce McDowell and Anees Zaka have written an extremely helpful book. . . . They review the history of Islam, outline Muslim culture and beliefs, and offer scores of helpful guidelines for making friends with Muslims and for testifying to Christ and the gospel. . . . an excellent work in an increasingly important missions area."

—James M. Boice

"In my nearly twenty-three years in full-time Christian ministry, I have never read any material as helpful for understanding the Muslims in America today and how to reach them."

—Clyde B. McDowell

". . . outlines the differences between the Muslim and Christian understandings of God and their religious practices while exploring bridges for sharing the gospel. . . . comprehensive and sensitive."

—Bruce J. Nicholls
